About Divine Fall Festival 2018
Just over twelve years ago, the Santa Ynez Mountains above Santa Barbara rang in the New Year with ALO at the infamous Mountain House. Two epic rain storms bookended a brief 12-hour window of perfect weather, incredible jams, new friendships, and marbles scattered about the land. A product of an amazing and unique community of friends brought together through live music, The Divine Ball, celebrating the coming of the 2006 New Year, to those who were there, went down as one of the best parties in our memories; the four sets of music considered one of the band’s pinnacle achievements – a true co-creation by the band and their audience.
As 2016 became 2017, the Santa Barbara MusicPhreaks stepped up to create the magic once again by hosting the Divine Ball – Taking it to Eleven. This time it was a three-day festival over New Year’s Eve weekend at Live Oak Campground in the Santa Ynez Mountains above Santa Barbara. ALO, Soul Majestic, No Simple Highway, Shaky Feelin’ and many other incredible bands threw down for a hungry and engaged audience. Yes, the weather was cold, but the music, energy, and love were smoking hot!
“DO IT AGAIN” someone once said…
We think that is just an outstanding idea so, let’s do it! And just like anything done by the MusicPhreaks, we intend to step it up from the last time. So we bring you…The Divine Fall. A music festival held for four days and three nights over Labor Day weekend. With temperatures around the 70’s all weekend, expect sunny days and comfortable nights for your grooving pleasure. From noon each day until the wee hours each night, we will offer three stages and a line up packed with booty shaking funk, irie grooves, and soul cleansing jams! The Lil’ Phreaks Zone is back for the kids to have fun and get involved in various activities in a safe and supervised environment. Delectable food and nitro coffee will be available from Kaptain’s BBQ Shack for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. Daily hiking, yoga, kickball, horse shoes, corn hole, hungry hippos, and many more activities will be available throughout the weekend. In fact, there are over 40 acres of amazing oak woodland and open space for us to play in all weekend!
Come and let your inner divinity shine!
Your ticket includes the two sets each from The Motet, DLO (Divine Liberation Orchestra), Soul Majestic, magicgravy, No Simple Highway, Shaky Feelin, TV Broken 3rd Eye Open, Chum, Hop Sauce, Ventucky String Band, Art of Funk, DJ SkyPounce, Guadalajara Joe, Brion Shearer, and more! We anticipate the cross pollination of these musicians to be the highlights of this weekend – a horn section will be present to help color the jams for all the bands. Late night DJs will be throwing down for all the night owls.
The weekend includes camping at our own private campground, Live Oak Camp, located off Highway 154 next to Lake Cachuma and just 25 minutes northwest of Santa Barbara. Live Oak Camp is a 40-acre magical nature area set under majestic oak trees. With only 1000 guests, we have plenty of space to to set up your own unique environment – get creative with friends and put together a divine theme camp. Prizes await the most inspiring creations!
There will also be a designated family camping area for those bringing little Phreaks who need a quiet zone. Close enough to walk to all the fun, but far enough to make sure the little ones sleep throughout the night.
Lil’ Phreaks Zone
Speaking of little Phreaks…we have a whole designated area for kids of all ages. A tent full of fun activities and paid babysitters will keep your little ones happy and safe while you get your groove on at the shows a short distance away. Movies, games, crafts, face painting, a parade and musical sets on our inside stage! The whole family is sure to have an unforgettable Labor Day weekend!
What would The Divine Fall be without a themed costume party? Bust out your inner divinity and show us your wonderful fall colors! More details on the theme nights to come, but you will not go wrong by bringing your fall flair A-game!
Kaptain’s BBQ Shack is back! We will have a sample menu posted soon, but they will have everything for sale at very reasonable prices – both vegetarian and carnivore delights for your sustenance needs. In addition, they will be offering nitro coffee throughout the day and evening hours.
There will be substantial expenses associated to making this a high quality and one-of-a-kind concert & camping experience. Tickets are tiered and are offered first come, first served – only 1000 tickets will be sold. Early bird tickets are on sale now through April 20th. The sooner you buy, the less you will spend. There are no refunds for this rain or shine event, but you are able to transfer tickets.
Peace, Love & Endless Grooves!
